The showroom at Soho Home Melrose.
The challenge
What the venue needed
A retail environment rather than a venue: showroom flexibility and back-office reliability in one open-plan floor, carrying POS, CRM, printers, guest Wi-Fi and internal systems. Delivery and go-live had to be coordinated remotely across time zones with local installers and the Soho House global IT team.
Our approach
What MicroNet delivered
- 01
Designed a LAN on Aruba switches with VLANs isolating POS, guest Wi-Fi, staff workstations, and printers and IoT devices from one another.
- 02
Configured firewall rules and SD-WAN compatibility for secure remote access and reliable cloud services.
- 03
Conducted predictive heatmapping, then deployed Aruba Wi-Fi 6 access points into the Aruba Central controller with distinct SSIDs and bandwidth prioritisation.
- 04
Pre-imaged Windows and Mac devices including admin laptops and in-store POS terminals.
- 05
Integrated network printers and scanners with group permissions, mapped drives and backup routines.
- 06
Set up SharePoint structures and AD policies to Soho House global standards.
- 07
Coordinated POS vendors, security installers and ISP providers, and provided remote standby support across soft opening and launch.
